At the beginning of June 2001, Kenn took his first full time job in Australia as Service Engineer.
Working from an office and workshop in Wangara, north of Perth, he was responsible for servicing scientific instruments all over W.A.
The following photos show the workshop and the machines I worked on in my first week there. This is an old 432 in for a recon, same type machine as my first on-site visit fortunately!
Determinator on the right and furnace on the left.
This is the inside of the Determinator - computer side - clever cell side is
the other!
This is the loader, it sits between the two and pushes samples into the furnace
- this is the bit we went to Collie to fix.
Finally, this is a very old SC32 we are rebuilding as a loaner - and that has
been already has a customer waiting when it comes back. Despite being over 20
years old and obsolete, it is very reliable, repairable and much in demand.
This is a FP-228 Nitrogen (Protein) determinator. This has just come into the
workshop having been replaced at Wesfarmers
CSBP Ltd .
After overhaul it was donated to Narrogin Agricultural College.
